The Labour Court upheld a recommendation against a worker’s claim for incremental credit for previous private-sector experience at HSE South. The decision was signed on 19 March 2010. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union argued that other clerical staff had received credit and that withholding it penalised the worker. HSE South said the agreement covered relevant service in public bodies, and that the comparator’s hospital duties matched the post for which that person was recruited. The Court agreed with the Rights Commissioner, and the union’s appeal failed.
