The Labour Court awarded a Wicklow County Council Staff Officer €2,500 and varied a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation in a dispute over arrears after late completion of a Paypath form. The decision was signed on 12 June 2010. The Court upheld the recommendation that cooperation with Paypath was a condition of pay increases under national agreements, but found shortcomings in how the worker and Council processed the case. The worker said he understood that arrears dating back to June 2006 would be paid after he completed the form, while the Council said eligibility for increases depended on cooperation with modernisation measures. The Court awarded €2,500 in full and final settlement of the aspect concerning those processing shortcomings.
