The Labour Court disallowed a postperson/driver’s appeal and affirmed a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation in a dispute over An Post’s handling of his grievances. The decision was signed on 7 August 2009. The worker, represented by the Communications Workers Union, said An Post had failed to respond to complaints and that he had lost an opportunity to become an Acting Inspector. An Post acknowledged delays, apologised and said it had addressed the issues. The Court found no financial loss directly attributable to the delay, but recognised that the worker remained aggrieved. It found no reasonable basis to interfere with the recommendation.
