The Labour Court disallowed a worker’s appeal over a tool allowance and affirmed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, was a craftworker temporarily assigned as a leakage locator at Wicklow County Council. The Court said the 2003 agreement limited the allowance to specified posts within the craft designation, and found the worker did not occupy such a post. The decision was signed on 21 May 2009.
