The Labour Court rejected a worker’s appeal over a Christmas bonus recommendation in a dispute with Group 4 Security Services (Ireland) Limited. The decision was dated 23 December 2008. The worker, a security officer at a marina, said the annual bonus formed part of the employment terms transferred to Group 4. The company said the former employer treated the bonus as discretionary, based on performance and its financial position. The Court endorsed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation for a one-week payment for 2007 only and rejected the worker’s appeal.
