Labour Court recommends UCC and worker accept promotion appeals decision

The Labour Court recommended that University College Cork and a worker accept the Academic Appeals Board’s decision in a dispute over promotion to senior lecturer. The Court signed its decision on 19 December 2008. The worker said the promotions and appeals processes were unfair and sought a fresh review. University College Cork said its agreed internal procedure had considered the case and its decisions had been implemented. The Court said the appeals scheme provided no further appeal and recommended that both sides accept the Board’s decision.
