Labour Court disallows HSE South appeal over Area Administrator job evaluation

The Labour Court disallowed HSE South’s appeal and affirmed a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation for a job evaluation of an Area Administrator post in North Cork Community Care. The decision was dated 17 November 2008. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union sought to upgrade the post from Grade 7 to Grade 8, citing comparable posts. HSE South argued the post was already at the appropriate level and opposed an individual evaluation. The Court found that a department circular did not prevent the recommended evaluation. It said the evaluation should be completed within three months, followed by a meeting to consider the result.
