The Labour Court dismissed Roscommon County Council’s appeal and affirmed a recommendation that a worker receive 90% of the craft rate from 1 September 2007, personal to the holder. The decision was dated 23 July 2008. The worker was a permanent general operative. The union said he regularly performed craft work without supervision and should receive the same rate as another Council employee doing similar work. The Council said his duties were those of a semi-skilled operative and that he was adequately paid.
