In 2007, the Labour Court affirmed a recommendation that HSE - South pay a staff nurse €640 and offer him a stress management course. The Court disallowed his appeal in a decision dated 3 December 2007. The nurse, who worked in psychiatric services in Killarney, had applied for a Duty Office post at St. Finan’s Hospital. He said management promised training but did not provide it, and that he suffered financial loss. HSE - South said it planned to train him for occasional relief cover. The Court found the Rights Commissioner’s conclusions reasonable and saw no basis to interfere with the recommendation.
