The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation in a roster dispute involving University College Dublin and a worker represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. Its decision was dated 10 September 2007. After the science restaurant closed, the worker transferred to the main restaurant, where the available hours differed from her former roster. The Court found her contract terms changed when she accepted redeployment instead of voluntary redundancy, but saw no basis to alter the terms agreed with the union. It recommended that she be offered 20 hours over three days or work the main restaurant’s term-time and out-of-term hours.
