The Labour Court found no reason to alter a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation against two Health And Safety Authority inspectors who sought permanent appointments after lengthy periods acting in higher grades. The decision was signed on 21 December 2005. The union sought permanent appointments, incremental credit for their acting service and higher annual leave. The Authority said the claims could not be met under its policies and staffing arrangements, and that it had reached its complement of Grade 1 and Grade 2 positions. The Court left the recommendation unchanged.
