The Labour Court upheld the rejection of a worker’s claim for a relocation payment after RHM Ireland moved its site from Glasnevin to Blanchardstown. The decision was dated 30 March 2005. The move affected eight staff members; seven warehouse operatives received payments, while the administrative worker did not. RHM Ireland said she chose to move after being told she would not qualify and could have remained in Glasnevin. The union argued the relocation disrupted her working life as much as it did the others and her commute was as long or longer. The Court found no grounds to change the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation.
