The Labour Court upheld a recommendation that Dublin City Council pay a worker €2,500 as a goodwill gesture over acting-up arrangements. The decision was signed on 2 February 2004. The Court recommended immediate negotiations to formalise acting-up arrangements and said that, in the meantime, temporary assignments should go to the senior most suitable person. It endorsed the payment as full and final settlement of the worker’s claim concerning acting-up before the decision.
