In 2004, the Labour Court upheld the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union's appeal and awarded a worker €1,100, the balance of wages due. The decision was dated 4 October 2004. The worker had agreed to work for three and a half weeks without pay in 2001 on the understanding the company would later pay €1,500. The company agreed to pay €1,000 at the Rights Commissioner's hearing, and the union said the company later paid €400, leaving €1,100 outstanding. The company, Contract Glazing Company Ltd, said it had ceased trading in January 2003 and that the Revenue Commissioners had seized its bank accounts and payments due to it.
