The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that East Coast Area Health Board pay €1,000 to each of two nurses after the Board appealed. The decision was dated 4 October 2004. The dispute followed the nurses’ move from Rathmines Health Centre to St Broc’s in Clonskeagh. The Irish Nurses Organisation sought 10 days’ annual leave and €4,000, citing extra travel and operational difficulties. The Board said the nurses had received four days’ leave and that staff could be moved to meet service needs. The Court also upheld a recommendation that the parties meet to resolve operational issues.
