The Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s appeal seeking higher grades for nine Iarnrod Eireann workers. The decision was signed on 26 February 2004. The Court was not satisfied that the workers had shown a change in their duties that warranted upgrading, and upheld the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation. It said the parties could benefit from discussing a possible alternative evaluation system.
