In 2003, the Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation against a worker’s promotion claim at An Post and dismissed his appeal. The decision was dated 15 October 2003. The worker said he should have been promoted under the established process and the Transformation Through Partnership Agreement. An Post said he had not applied for two advertised Superintendent 2 posts. The Court accepted that his role did not meet the criteria for promotion in 2000, leaving him ineligible for consideration for a Grade 2 post at that time. He later applied for and obtained a Superintendent 2 post.
