The Labour Court affirmed a Rights Commissioner’s €7,000 recommendation and disallowed a worker’s appeal in a redundancy dispute with Permanent TSB. The decision was dated 7 February 2003. The worker said he had lost salary and pension benefits after being made redundant during a branch reorganisation. Permanent TSB said he had agreed severance terms with professional advice and received €15,237 above the negotiated terms. The Court found the agreement had been freely made with professional advice. It said later changes in circumstances did not justify reopening it and left the recommendation in place.
