In 2003, the Labour Court increased a Rights Commissioner’s recommended payment to €1,000 after a worker appealed. The decision was dated 18 July 2003. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, had complained of unwanted attention from her supervisor and said she was told there was no more work after declining a transfer to Dublin. Pegasus Security Group denied that the supervisor had paid undue attention to the worker. The company said she had effectively ended her employment by arriving late on the agreed reinstatement date. The Rights Commissioner had recommended a €150 lump sum. The Labour Court said it supported the Rights Commissioner’s findings and amended the recommendation to €1,000 in full and final settlement. The Court gave no further reasons for supporting those findings.
