The Labour Court recommended that Bruss GmbH offer a worker €1,500 in full and final settlement of a workplace dispute. The decision was signed on 14 April 2003. The worker, represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, said repeated bending during quality-control checks caused discomfort and that she received warnings for missing targets. The union also sought reimbursement for sick leave and 14 days of lost annual leave. The company said it had agreed to remove the warnings and transfer her from the checking work, but opposed financial reimbursement. The Court said the company could not be expected to accept liability for the worker's injuries or illness as part of the industrial relations settlement. It found that the Rights Commissioner's conclusions implied she had been treated unfairly and recommended the €1,500 payment.
