The Labour Court upheld the union’s appeal and left in place a recommendation that Bishopstown/Ballyphehane Schools C.E. Project increase a former community employment scheme supervisor’s redundancy payments to the equivalent of four weeks’ pay per year of service, in addition to statutory entitlements. The decision was dated 31 January 2002. The Project said it could not afford an additional payment and that the worker had already received £3,450, comprising £1,350 in statutory entitlements and £2,100 extra. The worker was represented by the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union.
