Labour Court upholds €1,700 recommendation in worker’s unfair dismissal appeal

The Labour Court upheld a €1,700 recommendation to a general operative after rejecting Farrell Bros (Ardee) Ltd’s appeal. The decision was dated 8 July 2002. The Rights Commissioner had found that the company did not adequately follow its procedures, while the worker’s underperformance contributed to events. The Court was not satisfied that the employer had formally complied with its own procedures and upheld the findings and recommendation.
