The Labour Court upheld a recommendation that E.J. Condren Fruit Wholesaler pay a former van driver €634.87 in full and final settlement of his dismissal claim. The decision was dated 18 January 2002. The worker appealed the Rights Commissioner’s recommendation of £500. He said he was dismissed without prior warning. The employer said he was dismissed for poor timekeeping and had been spoken to about arriving late. The Rights Commissioner found the dismissal procedures flawed.
