The Labour Court upheld a Rights Commissioner’s recommendation that Hair Flair pay a trainee hairdresser £600 (€761.84) in compensation after finding her dismissal unfair. The decision was dated 22 May 2002. The worker said she was told there was a shortage of work, although another person was employed the same day. Hair Flair said it had not known it was required to provide a written contract. The Court agreed with the Rights Commissioner’s conclusions.
