Full description from the council file
6. The following requirements of the Planning Authority’s Conservation Officer shall be fully complied with.
a. Drawn and photographic record: The Applicant/developer shall submit an existing floor plan for the top floor and roof to complete the drawn record of the Nationally Significant Protected Structure and additional photographs of all internal and external areas of the Protected Structure to form a comprehensive baseline record of the lower ground and ground floor rooms and external areas associated with the hospitality / function room / bar-restaurant use of the Protected Structure.
b. Ground floor plan: The Applicant/developer shall confirm in writing if the double doors from the Great Hall and the single door from the main staircase exiting onto the upper ‘balcony’ on the north elevation are escape only/emergency doors and that the balcony is for access only (no seating or tables are indicated on the drawings submitted)
c. Ground floor external doors: The solid replacement double doors from the Great Hall shall be replaced with more sympathetic timber doors, with glazed panels to coordinate with the glazing of the round headed window above. The Applicant/developer shall submit 1:20 drawings for the written approval of the Planning Authority.
d. The Conservation Architect shall prepare a Conservation Management Plan for the Protected Structure, in accordance with best conservation practice, that will include a regular inspection protocol and programme for conservation repair works to ensure the historic fabric is maintained in the best condition possible, ensuring that clear parameters are set for the continued sustainable use of the nationally significant Protected Structure into the future.
e. The Applicant/developer shall devise a high-quality, well-designed method of discreetly screening any refuse bins (associated with the proposed bar-restaurant use) using planting or bespoke reversible screens, that shall be of sufficient quality for the national status of the Protected Structure.
