The applicant shall comply with the following Conservation requirements of the Planning Authority: c) Demolitions: demolitions shall be carefully executed where new window/door openings are proposed, including removal of rear lean- to shed, internal walls and chimney breast, brickwork to form new / enlarged openings etc. so that it can be salvaged and reused for conservation repairs in the proposed works. (ii) Roof works: An inspection of the attic and roof fabric will be carried out by a structural engineer with proven conservation expertise to confirm previous assumptions regarding the existing structure. The design will be amended where necessary to match the existing structure. A record drawing shall be submitted indicating all existing timber rafters, trusses and ceiling joists to be removed, and new structural interventions to support/trim new dormer window, new rooflights and solar panels. A full inspection will be carried out to assess the capacity of the existing roof rafters to support the additional loading from the proposed solar panels. In the event that the roof rafters are found to be insufficient to take the additional loading, new rafters of a matching size will be sistered on locally to increase the capacity with no loss to the original historic fabric – updated drawing shall be submitted.
