Planning Permission is sought for Light House Cinema Limited to upgrade and expand their premises at Smithfield Market Square, Dublin 7 on a site of c.500sq.m. The development will consist of: (i) Modifications to the ground floor of Block A and adjoining Market Square area (permitted under planning reg. refs. 2502/99, 1947/02, 1952/02, 3978/02, 2964/04, 1123/06, 1879/06, 4830/06, 1879/07, 1937/08), as follows: change of use of Unit 9b from retail to cinema (Class 11) / exhibition (Class 10); associated works to the Unit 9b facades to Queen Street and Blackhall Walk to include the removal of entrance lobby and doors, modifications to windows, stone and metal cladding and the provision of an emergency escape door, signage, bespoke artwork, lighting and display window; (ii) Construction of 2 no. new cinema screening rooms within Unit 9b of 35 and 45 person seat capacity, to give a total additional seating capacity of 80 persons (and bringing the overall Light House cinema seating capacity to 694 persons); ancillary areas including circulation and WCs; all accessed from the existing Light House premises; in a total c.215 sq.m; (iii) Works to the existing Light House Cinema areas to comprise: internal modifications to cafe area including the closing in of an existing void, new counter/ bar configuration and extended wash-up room in a total of c.135 sq.m; modifications to the external stainless steel signage wall projecting from front doors of Lighthouse Cinema onto Market Square to form a new entrance canopy with associated new lighting, signage and light-box / digital display areas, in a total of c.35 sqm; (iv) All ancillary and related site development and boundary treatment works. Total GFA of proposed development is c. 385 sq.m.
