The following requirements of the Conservation Division shall be adhered to: (b) Prior to the commencement of the development, the applicant shall submit for the written approval of the planning authority: (i) Revised plans omitting the proposed oriel window. Indirect light may be brought to the staircase by way of a glazed screen to the new partitions between the living room and the new staircase. (ii) 1:20 plan, section and elevational drawings of the proposed new lobby screen with the chamfer omitted. The new frame should be as slender as possible, and the material shall be made of a high-quality material such as steel or timber (iii) 1:20 plan / section and elevational drawings and specifications for the proposed new staircase including detail of the proposed balustrade design. (iv) 1:20 drawings and specifications for the proposed external door under the front steps which shall be timber. (v) A method statement for the repair of flat plasterwork to all historic walls shall be provided. (vi) The proposed tanking shall be omitted. A revised methodology based on an assessment of the levels of existing damp at lower ground floor shall be provided. The applicant shall consider alternative means of addressing damp that shall be of minimal intervention, that shall retain breathability and primary fabric. The most suitable methods of addressing damp include the introduction of French drains within the landscaping directly adjacent to the building, ensuring that the lower ground floor space is adequately ventilated, exposing the base of the wall fabric externally and internally (removing cementitious render and any non-breathable paints), and the use of sacrificial renders internally such as lime / hemp / clay, and / or the introduction of a calcium silicate or wood chip board (c) During the course of the development, the applicant shall submit for the written approval of the planning authority: (i) Samples of plaster repair using NHL2 lime plaster (ii) Investigations shall be carried out as part of the proposed opening-up works to ensure the retention and conservation and reinstatement of hitherto concealed original stone flags or tiles, if any exist, prior to the installation of the insulated floor.
