Future of proposed new bus route in Wicklow remains unclear
The Wicklow PeopleThe National Transport Authority has failed to provide clarity on the future of a new local link bus service linking Glendalough and Bray.
Under the proposals, the NTA are looking to introduce a new service between Glendalough and Bray, providing connections to Laragh, Annamoe, Roundwood and Kilmacanogue seven days a week.
The proposed service will provide five return journeys a day from Monday to Friday, offering greater connections to regional and DART rail services at Bray (Daly) Rail Station.
Following a parliamentary question from Sinn Fein TD for Wicklow John Brady, junior minister at the Department of Transport Jerry Butimer recognised the importance of boosting connectivity in County Wicklow and called on the NTA to provide an update on the new service.
The call comes following a recent meeting of Wicklow County Council when elected members considered a motion calling on the National Transport Authority to hold regular clinics that would discuss local transport issues.
At their monthly meeting in June, several councillors indicated they have yet to receive a satisfactory response from the NTA about projects in their district.
