Works on the €120m Trinity Wharf project for Wexford town will begin in earnest in the coming weeks with the construction of a new level crossing over the railway line. Thereafter, on-site investigations will take place with the first contracts for the works expected to be issued in early 2026.

Requesting an update at the July meeting of Wexford County Council (WCC), Labour’s Vicky Barron received a response from chief executive Eddie Taaffe.

“The level crossing over the railway line should be in place by the end of the year, the next stage will be the on-site investigations,” he said. “There will be activity there in the next few weeks.”

To date €20 million has been allocated for the Trinity Wharf scheme under the Urban Regeneration Fund / Project 2040.

Upon completion the project is expected to deliver a mix of modern office space with 200,000 sq ft commercial office space, hotel accommodation, restaurants and retail units, a 64 berth marina, a new boardwalk linking Trinity Wharf with Paul Quay and the Crescent, and an urban greenway.
