Tipperary rugby club which made history this year to be honoured with civic reception

A history-making Tipperary rugby club are set to be honoured by Tipperary County Council as they receive a civic reception in the coming months.
Nenagh Ormond RFC made history earlier this year becoming the first ever Tipperary rugby club to be promoted to divison 1A of the Energia All-Ireland League.
The north Tipperary team made history by being promoted to division 1A after beating UCC by three points in their playoff match back in April.
Now, the Nenagh Municipal District is looking to celebrate the players and coaching staff by honouring them with a civic reception.
At the July meeting of the Nenagh MD, the district administrator said that discussions were ongoing with the club to arrange a date that would suit as many of the players and backroom staff as possible.
"I have made contact with Nenagh Ormond and they’ve agreed to accept a civic reception,” the district administrator told the meeting.
"We’re in discussions around a date but we’re trying to look around when the season starts so they’d have the best availability of numbers who’d be able to attend, but we’re probably talking about the end of August or the beginning of September and we’re trying to work with them as to what day the players are most likely to be around,” the administrator added.
