Plans lodged for 15 new homes in Tipperary village

A Tipperary village could be set to get some new homes under plans that have been put before the council.
Premier Excel Ltd has applied to Tipperary County Council for planning permission to build 15 new homes in the village of Mullinahone, consisting of a mix of houses and apartments.
The developers hope to build 11 houses – five four-bedroom, and six three-bedroom homes – with four two-bedroom apartments completing the planned development.
Car-parking areas, new roads and compacted gravel footpaths, open spaces and an active recreational area, and public lighting would also be provided as part of the development, according to planning files.
The new homes would be built on a site known locally as the Forge Meadow, which sits on the Carrick Road in Mullinahone village.
Under the plans, the developer has agreed to give three of the homes to Tipperary County Council for use as social housing.
Tipperary County Council is expected to make a decision on the planning application by December 15.
