Planning application lodged for 23 new homes in Tipperary village

A planning application has been lodged for more than 20 houses in a Tipperary village.
Majestic Property Developers Ltd has applied to Tipperary County Council for permission to build 23 new homes in the Longfield estate, Ardmayle East, in Boherlahan.
Under the plans, there would be 21 four bedroom homes – including a mix of detached and semi-detached – and two three bedroom houses on the site, both of which will be semi-detached.
The new planning application aims to complete the development of the Longfield housing estate, which was built more than 20 years ago, according to planning files.
Five single-storey houses in the estate that were partially constructed a number of years ago are also now being completed, the developers say, meaning the finished housing estate will feature a mixture of housing types.
According to an agent engaged by the developer, the proposed homes aim to have “seamless integration with the established residential community.
"The various house types included in the application have been carefully considered to ensure they sensitively sit alongside existing dwellings, maintaining a consistent architectural rhythm while completing the original vision for the site,” the agent added.
Family life and community were key considerations in the design, the agent said, adding that the development aims to create a pleasant living environment.
"At the heart of this application is the aspiration to create a place for people to call home, for people to live, to enjoy, to play, to raise their families,” the agent said.
"The streets and spaces are designed to provide a pleasant and robust environment,” they added.
Tipperary County Council planners are due to make a decision on the application by May 25.
