More Tipperary All-Ireland Semi Final fans to be able to travel by train

By Katie O'Donovan, Independent.ie

Independent councillor John O’Heney formally called on Irish Rail to provide more trains from Tipperary so that fans could travel to Croke Park more sustainably ahead of the big game on July 6.

"It is important that all supporters have a way of travelling to Dublin. All the trains for that day have already been booked out by supporters from other counties,” Cllr O’Heney said in a statement.

“To ensure a large Tipperary presence in Croke Park, I have formally requested that additional trains are made available for all Tipperary hurling supporters in the county,” he added.

Now, the independent councillor has confirmed that Irish Rail have agreed to add more tickets and times from Tipperary to Dublin on July 6 to ensure that hurling fans can take the train to Dublin.

"Thank you to Iarnród Éireann for working with me and addressing the needs of Tipperary hurling supporters,” Cllr O’Heney said.

“If these times booked out over the weekend, they will be reviewed again early next week,” the independent councillor added.
