Diversions for motorists as busy Tipperary road to close nightly for more than two weeks

By Katie O'Donovan, Irish Independent

A busy Tipperary road is set to close every night for more than two weeks as improvement works take place.

Tipperary County Council is planning on closing the N24 road from Knockagh, outside Cahir to Derrygrath in order to improve the road surfaces in the area.

The road will close from 8pm to 6am nightly, starting on Monday, September 28.

The nightly closures will remain in place until Friday, October 16.

The works will include, pavement resurfacing, asphalt laying and associated road construction works, requiring a full night-time road closure for the safety of road users and roadworks personnel.

Diversions will be in place for the duration of the closure, with motorists being diverted via the R687 and R639 roads.

Anyone who has any objections to the proposed closure can let the council know in writing to the road closures section, Roads and Transportation, Tipperary County Council, Civic Offices, Limerick Road, Nenagh.

People can also make submissions via email to roadclosures@tipperarycoco.ie.

Submissions must be received by 12pm on Thursday, September 10.
