Date for Christmas lights switch on in north Tipperary announced

The festive season will officially begin in north Tipperary later this month when a busy town’s Christmas lights are switched on.
The Christmas lights in Nenagh will officially be switched on on Sunday, November 30, bringing the festive spirit to the north Tipperary town, with an open-air concert taking place to mark the occasion.
In order to facilitate the lights switch on and the concert, Tipperary County Council have announced that a road closure will be in place for the duration of the event.
Pearse Street in the town will be closed from the junction with Kickham Street to Market Cross for the day to make sure that the Christmas festivities can take place safely and securely.
The road will close from 7.30am until 10pm that night, with local diversions in place.
Tipperary County Council has said that diversions will be clearly signposted for the duration of the road closure, while a bus stop on the closed section of road will be temporarily relocated.
The bus stop outside Ryan’s Care Plus Pharmacy on Pearse Street will be temporarily relocated to the Railway Station while the road is closed, the council have said.
The bus stop will have signage to advise passengers of the temporary relocation to the Railway Station on the day.
To celebrate the switching on of the Christmas lights in Nenagh, an open-air concert will take place after the lights are switched on to ring in the Christmas spirit, with something for people of all ages to enjoy.
