The owners of one of Sligo’s most popular restaurants are hoping to open a ‘sister’ restaurant at The Courtyard, Teeling Street.

A planning application seeks permission for development at Units 1 and 2, The Courtyard, Teeling Street, which is a protected structure under the Sligo and environs development plan 2004-2010.

The application states, “The development will consist of change of use from the existing Joseph Martin Bespoke Tailor and Courtyard Cafe to Fish and Bean restaurant.”

The application was lodged with Sligo Council by Áine Waldron, who is the co-owner of the popular Fish and Bean restaurant in Rosses Point.

The restaurant in Rosses Point opened in June 2021 and has proved to be very popular with locals and visitors alike in the intervening years.

A letter accompanying the application from one of the landowners states, “I, Joseph Martin, consent to David and Áine Mullan making a pre-planning enquiry in relation to my property at Unit 1 and 2, The Courtyard, Teeling St, Sligo.
