An update on the progress of the N17 was on the agenda at this week’s monthly meeting of Ballymote-Tubbercurry Municipal District.

While there was positive news, the overriding message was that there is a process that must be adhered to before the long awaited and much needed piece of infrastructue becomes a reality.

Addressing the meeting, Emer Concannon, Director of Placemaking and Ballymote-Tubbercurry Municipal District said, “We all know we have to dot all the i's and cross all the t’s. It has to be an extremely robust business case before it goes to planning.”

Ms Concannon noted work to make the road a reality is ongoing as she noted, “We have adequate funding to date and it is progressing.”
