Collooney water network strengthened as Uisce Éireann targets bursts and supply interruptions
The Sligo ChampionHomes and businesses in Collooney are benefiting from a more reliable water supply following the completion of Uisce Éireann’s water main replacement project in the area.
This significant investment involved the replacement of more than 740 metres of old and damaged water mains with new, modern pipes, helping to improve network performance, reduce the risk of bursts and strengthen the reliability of water services for the local community.
The works were completed along the L7609/L76093, from Collooney Methodist Church to Markree Heights, and along the L7609 from Bungee Row to St. Mary’s Green.
As part of the project, 33 backyard water service connections were replaced, further improving the reliability and resilience of the network.
