Uisce Éireann seeks approval for water infrastructure upgrade in Meath

Uisce Éireann has submitted a planning application for a major upgrade to water infrastructure at Stanley Hill, Slane - a move aimed at improving the treated water supply for the local area.
The proposed development includes the construction of a new treated water storage tank measuring 25 metres in length and 20 metres in breadth, with a usable storage capacity of approximately 1,500 cubic metres.
The new tank will stand at a total height of 7.15 metres, including a safety railing, and will replace the existing treated water storage tank, which is to be decommissioned and demolished as part of the works.
To support the upgraded facility, Uisce Éireann also plans to install interconnection pipework and a scour and overflow facility. A dechlorination system is to be introduced, and approximately 160 metres of a four-metre-wide hardcore access track will be constructed to facilitate access to the site.
The development also includes the diversion of an existing overhead cable and a range of ancillary and temporary works. These include a temporary compound and access route to be used during the construction phase.
The planning application was lodged to Meath County Council on June 17.
