Trim residents urged to be ‘mindful’ of water use during treatment plant works

Uisce Éireann said the works on February 11 will involve the temporary diversion of a water main within the Trim Water Treatment Plant.

While there will be no loss of supply to customers in Trim or surrounding areas, the utility is appealing to the public to be “mindful” of water use to help maintain adequate levels in the Bray Hill Reservoir.

Enda Cully of Uisce Éireann said the request is a precautionary measure as construction continues on the major infrastructure project.

“As part of the upgrade works taking place at Trim Water Treatment Plant, a water main in the plant must be temporarily diverted on Wednesday next,” she said.

“While there will be no loss of supply and customers will not be affected, we would appeal to customers to be cognisant of their water usage on the day and to conserve water where possible.”

The upgrade project, due for completion in mid-2027, aims to address operational issues and reduce water quality risks in the local supply.

Homes and businesses in Trim have previously experienced disruption from outages, and Uisce Éireann said the works will safeguard long-term supply and reliability.
