Traffic management and bus stop upgrades in Navan town centre

Temporary traffic management measures will be implemented on a popular street in Navan to allow for the upgrade of the existing bus stop and the construction of a new bus stop on the opposite side of the road.
The project set to be carried out on Paddy O’Brien Street is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 15, 2025, and continue until Friday, November 14, 2025.
During this time, vehicles entering Paddy O’Brien Street from Kennedy Road will be diverted via Kennedy Road and Abbey Road, or alternatively via Market Square to Watergate Street and Abbey Road.
Traffic signage will be installed, and access to businesses and deliveries will be maintained throughout the works.
These upgrades are designed to enhance connectivity between regional and inter-urban bus services and Navan’s local bus routes (NV1 and NV2).
“The bus stops will improve public transport access in an effort to make active travel and public transport more attractive choices that are accessible to all, delivering wider health and environmental benefits, and to create a much more vibrant and sustainable town centre,” Meath County Council said on a social media post.
The temporary traffic management system will be monitored and adjusted as needed. Residents, businesses, and commuters are thanked for their patience while the works are completed.
