By Sylvia Omorodion, Independent.ie

Plans to introduce new traffic-calming measures in a Trim housing estate have been announced by Meath County Council.

At the December meeting of Trim Municipal District, the local authority outlined proposals for Effernock Manor, which include the installation of two build-outs, along with associated signage and road markings, aimed at reducing vehicle speeds and improving road safety.

Drawings and details of the proposed works will be available for public inspection at the offices of Meath County Council at Buvinda House in Navan during normal office hours until January 30, 2026. The material can also be viewed or downloaded from the council’s website.

Members of the public are invited to make submissions or observations in relation to the proposed traffic-calming scheme. Submissions can be made in writing or by email to the council’s transport department by January 30.

The council has also stated that the delivery of the scheme will be subject to the availability of funding.
