Traffic-calming measures proposed for Ashbourne estate

By Sylvia Omorodion, Independent.ie

New traffic-calming measures are set to be introduced at an Ashbourne estate to improve road safety and reduce vehicle speeds.

At the December meeting of Ashbourne Municipal District, councillors received an update on the proposed works for Belgree Court, Kilbride.

The scheme includes the installation of a modular double chicane, along with associated signage and road markings, aimed at enhancing safety for residents and pedestrians.

Drawings and details of the proposed works are available for public inspection at the offices of Meath County Council at Buvinda House during normal office hours until January 23, 2026. They can also be viewed or downloaded from the council’s website.

Members of the public are invited to make submissions or observations on the proposal in writing or by email to the council’s transport department by January 23.

The council has also stated that the implementation of the traffic-calming measures will be subject to funding.
