‘Tailor made’ location proposed for Navan bus stop in Meath

The need for a new bus stop on Flower Hill in Navan has been raised by a local councillor.
At a recent meeting of Navan Municipal District, Sinn Féin Councillor Edward Fennessy urged the council to request the National Transport Authority (NTA) to provide a stop on Flower Hill, opposite Gough’s Plant Hire.
"Or if this is not feasible, to provide a bus stop at Abbeylands near the planned ‘Age Friendly’ development that will be constructed there over the next year,” Cllr Fennessy said.
Councillors were informed that responsibility for bus services, including routes and stop infrastructure, rests with bus operators and the NTA.
Following discussions with the NTA on priorities for its Bus Stop Enhancement Programme in Meath, members received a list of stops and shelters planned for 2025. Flower Hill was not included.
While the request has been noted, councillors were advised that such proposals must be raised directly with the transport authority.
Speaking after the meeting on social media, Cllr Fennessy said: “Connecting Flower Hill with the local bus network wouldn't be too difficult to achieve.”
"There is a tailor made space opposite Gough's where a bus stop could be installed. Rolling this out would require a small change to the local bus route,” he added.
