Plans lodged for new homes in Meath village

By Sylvia Omorodion, Independent.ie

Plans for a residential development have been lodged in one of Meath’s villages.

The application, submitted by Greenshannon Developments Ltd, seeks permission for works to an existing two-storey detached dwelling as well as the construction of three additional houses at a site in Enfield.

The proposed development includes the refurbishment of the existing dwelling, incorporating “partial demolition” works and a two-storey extension. In addition, the plans provide for the construction of three detached four-bedroom houses, bringing the total number of homes on the site to four.

The site is located on Main Street in Enfield.

Vehicular access to the development is to be provided via the existing entrance off Main Street, while a new pedestrian entrance is proposed to serve the fourth dwelling.

The application also includes all associated ancillary site and infrastructural works, including landscaping, boundary treatments and drainage works necessary to facilitate the development.

The planning application was lodged on December 12, 2025, and is now under consideration by Meath County Council.
