Plans lodged for 56-home development with café, crèche, gym and village plaza in Meath

Plans for a 56-home residential development along with a mix of community and retail facilities in Kilbride have been lodged with Meath County Council.
Aspect Houses (ADC) Ltd is seeking approval for the 3.4-hectare scheme at Priestown, which includes 52 houses and four apartments as well as a crèche, café, gym and retail unit.
Under the plans, two mixed-use buildings — Block A and Block B — would be developed at the entrance to the site. Block A, rising to between two and three storeys, would contain a 245 sq m crèche, an 83 sq m café and two apartments.
Block B, a two-storey building, would include a 77 sq m gym, an 82 sq m retail unit and two further apartments.
The housing element comprises 52 houses of varying sizes. These include one three-bed detached home, eleven three-bed terraced houses, twenty-six three-bed semi-detached units, six four-bed semi-detached houses and eight five-bed detached properties.
The four apartments consist of three two-bed units and one three-bed unit, each with associated balconies.
Vehicular and pedestrian access is proposed from both Kilbride Road and Priestown Road. The plans also include a new segregated pedestrian and cycle route along the eastern boundary, internal roads, car and bicycle parking, services infrastructure and refuse storage.
A landscaped public realm is proposed as part of the scheme, including a new “Village Plaza”, open spaces, play areas, boundary treatments and public lighting.
All associated site works and services form part of the application. The plans are now with Meath County Council for consideration.
