Plans for a 54-unit apartment and duplex development at a prominent junction in Navan have been given the go-ahead by Meath County Council.

The scheme, by Kingscroft Developments Limited, will be built at Moathill on a site bounded to the north by the R147 (Kells Road), to the east by the N51 national road, to the south by the Bailey Hill housing development and to the west by an existing residential property.

The approved development consists of three four-storey blocks, identified as Blocks A, B and C, and will deliver a mix of apartments and duplex homes at the edge of the town centre along two of Navan’s busiest routes.

The permission allows for 14 one-bedroom apartments, 18 two-bedroom apartments, four three-bedroom apartments, 14 three-bedroom duplex units and four four-bedroom duplex units.

Vehicular access to the development will be provided through a residential scheme to the south previously permitted under planning reference NA151301.

Three pedestrian access points will also link the development to existing footpaths along the N51 and the R147.

The development includes private and communal open space, landscaping, car parking, bicycle storage, bin storage and associated ESB and plant infrastructure as part of the overall site works.

Meanwhile, significant further information and revised plans were submitted by the applicant during the planning process before the council granted permission.
