Plans for 11 homes in Ashbourne as cottage set for demolition

By Sylvia Omorodion, Irish Independent

Plans have been lodged for an 11-home housing development in Ashbourne, Co Meath.

Burrowmere Ltd has applied to Meath County Council on April 7 for permission to build the scheme at Donaghmore on Milltown Road.

The proposed development would involve the demolition of an existing cottage and adjoining shed, along with the decommissioning of a septic tank and associated percolation area on the site.

The plans provide for 11 three-bedroom houses, arranged across three two-storey terraced blocks, including two terraces of four homes each and a third terrace of three units.

The development would also include a new sewage connection and the realignment of the entrance to an existing dwelling adjoining the northern boundary, as well as a new sewage connection to a neighbouring property to the south-east.

An existing foul line from a neighbouring property to the south is also set to be connected into the new foul network within the site.

Additional works include the construction of an access road, landscaped public open space and the provision of a 10-metre riparian buffer along an existing open stream.

All associated site works, including drainage and infrastructure, form part of the application.
