Opening of Ireland’s first Taco Bell in Meath facing slight delay

The opening of Ireland’s first Taco Bell in Dunshaughlin will be delayed, councillors heard at a meeting of Ratoath Municipal District this week.
The new facility, part of Applegreen’s motorway service area at Junction 6 on the M3, was initially scheduled to open this month but will now be postponed by approximately two weeks due to issues with a mains water connection being installed by Uisce Éireann. Construction, however, is still expected to be completed by late September.
The site represents Applegreen’s largest single investment in Ireland this year and is part of a €15m development that will create over 100 new jobs in the Dunshaughlin area.
The nearly 10-acre motorway facility will include an Applegreen convenience store, a service station forecourt, and eight ultra-fast EV charging ports capable of speeds up to 400kW, with additional chargers planned as more power becomes available.
It will also house a Burger King, a Braeburn Coffee Café, a M&S Food shop-in-shop, Crafted, Applegreen’s bespoke deli, and the highly anticipated Taco Bell.
The service area will operate 24/7, while the food outlets will be open daily from 6am to 11pm, with varying hours for each outlet. With ample parking and the largest EV charging hub on the M3, the facility is set to become a major convenience and dining destination for commuters and travelers along the motorway.
